Santa Lucia Project-Taller Vertical II

The principal idea of the project  was to create a set of residential buildings that surround the river Santa Lucia. The  land that we choosed is  contaminated by the people around the river or used as parking lots and warehouses.

 

The first task was to create a scale model of the lands, so we can look at the spaces that we have and also to have an idea of the magnitude of the project.

The next part of the process was to find a concept, based on the case of study ,lads , views,  surroundings and context. All this new ideas also need to create union between each space of the land. 

The final result was a serie of buildings design with the same materials, functions and terraces; but with different kinds of distributions, size , views and form.

The group was instructed by architecs Agustin Landa, Jorge Corcuera and Claudia Carreño; the students were from Taller Vertical II.

Reconstruction of Santa Catarina River Monterrey-Repentina I

In July of 2010 the Hurricane Alex destroyed the river that runs through the city of Monterrey, it was a huge lost and the idea of this assigment was to create a new propouse to reconstruct the river and the use in it. The main idea was to create a green belt all across the river and so the water was not a problem again the project would create a network of underground pipes that would lead to the water of the rains  outside the city.

Each group of taller vertical had a different project and in the end the presentation was in the municipal building with the governor of Monterrey.

The group was instructed by architecs Agustin Landa, Jorge Corcuera and Claudia Carreño; the students were from Taller Vertical II.
